I have a mistress.
I know it’s wrong, but I can’t help it.
She captivated my heart a few years back.
She helps my soul wander in a sea of tranquillity.
I fall in love with her every time I see her.
Feels like love at first sight.
Every single time.
Last night was no exception.
She cooks for me.
With love.
She sings for me.
With passion.
She dazzles me with her traditional beauty.
Beauty seldom found in today’s cynical world.
I’m sorry, Beirut, but I have a mistress.
I am in awe of her.
I try to see her as often as I can.
And when I am with you, I think of her.
I love you Byblos.

Absolutely loved this Rabih! Bikfaya, where I am from, has always been “my love”. I couldn’t get over my love for this town… I started to venture out a little more and I would have to say I have been cheating on Bikfaya with Batroun LOL
But I will be living in Byblos starting September. So you’ll have to come visit! :)

Posted by Pat | July 15, 2011, 2:24 PMThanks Pat! I’m willing to bet that you already have ;)
Posted by Rabih | July 15, 2011, 2:29 PMShe sure gets around, doesn’t she? And here I was counting on her being mine. I guess somewhere, she keeps us all sane. Another cool post, Rabih :)
p.s: I am in no way romantically involved with Beirut

As for Beirut, well… it’ll always be a love/hate relationship if you ask me :)
